Long Furlong Wedding Photography, West Sussex Wedding Photographer, Sussex Photographer, that’s the topic of today’s post. Yep a bit of a mouthful!
I recently was asked to cover a wedding for a neighbour of mine. He’s become more of a friend of recent. He’s a bloody good bloke.
Barney Warner Photography covered this wedding today not just still wedding photography but wedding video as well. We’ll come back to that in future posts so keep your eyes peeled!
Daniel and Karen had their fantasic wedding here at Long Furlong Barn in Worthing West Sussex. Not my first time shooting here. I did a wedding video there not so long ago too. Fab place.
The entire day was held here, from bridal preps with Karen, through to first dance, the whole day.
Starting off with Karen, she was very calm, which is a good start. Karen is a bag of laughs. She’s chilled yet has her eye on everything. I guess thats the EPA in her coming through!
She had everyone know what their duties were without being bossy. The kids were running around having fun and the hair & makeup being applied. This was a good point for a few overal shots and grab some details of the bridal preps. I took the bride’s wedding dress outside into the courtyard and snapped it hanging. A personal fav that I do. Always looks so lovely swinging in the breeze. Makes great slow mo too in the wedding video.
Obviously there were tonnes more photos but they are for the client ;0)
Daniel was joined by his best man Rob, who’s a great chap and his usher Dan, again another good bloke, who I actually met at another wedding last year. (Was very wet, we won’t go into that one!).
Rob had the rings. I like to do a little detail shot of them at each wedding I attend. The choice of backdrop was endless at Long Furlong Barn. Eventually I chose inside a plant pot and even used the box in one photo as it was so pretty.
So Karen popped into the dress and we did a few more shots. The dress was gorgeous and she floated around in it. Despite those wedges! Think she was trying to catch up with Daniel ha ha.( Sorry hun).
Onto the boys, Daniel Rob and Dan. A few groups with and without Daniel’s sons. I love his boys, they are very sweet and polite. But you can see mischeif in their eyes, (I love that in kids).
I really enjoy photographing kids and showing off their little personalities, have a look at my portrait page here
Ring shots with the chaps and straight into the ceremony.
Daniel was sobbing like a baby, and I don’t mind telling you that. After 5 minutes or so he pulled himeself together again and we were flying along. Vowels and signing of the ceremony. Back down the isle to a confetti line up, where we snapped the couple walking back down through all the guests.
We did a few formal groups, guests socialising, details of the wedding breakfast room. Then the romantics…. WOW this venue lends itself so well. I love shooting here and it’s mainly because of the rolling fields, the rustic barn and the general outlook.
Have a look at some of these and tell me you don’t agree, I dare you!
After a fantastic meal and speeches we had a bit of a rest. There was a small amount of time for the guests to chill out before the evening guests started to pour in. The time was spent well. With an Instamatic Poloroid camera and the guest book. Sweet stall and drinks flowing. Kids games aplenty outside to keep the little devils at bay.
Cutting of the cake and first dance went like this…
Now before I tie things up with this Wedding Photography post… I would just like to share with you some of these crazy shots. Just beautiful moments I came across throughout the day. It’s these moments that keep me on my toes and coming back for more each time I photograph a wedding.
Just want to say a quick thank you to the new Mr & Mrs Karen and Daniel Hobbs. You guys are amazing! You have a great family and amazing friends. I throughly enjoyed the day and would do it all over again with you. Have a fab married life together, look after each other. See you all very soon!
