Wedding Photography at Hampton Court, what a result!
With the sun shining I knew this was going to be a great event. Ever been to Hampton Court, it’s a very picturesque town, very similar to Richmond and Henley on Thames. Hampton Court has the river Thames running through it, and the hotel was smack bang on the river.
We arrived at Emma’s parents place in Raynes Park, 5 minutes down the road from where it was all kicking off, she was very calm. The dress was hanging up and makeup was being applied. The girls were drinking fizz and everything was great.
Starting with photography of the dress, flowers and other details. Sneeking a few images on the side whilst key moments happened. That’s what I’m all about, the documentary natural approach. Everyone loves this style of unobtrusive photography.
The dress was next to go on, whilst Dad popped on his socks!
A few snaps of the fam and we were off to see Ben at the church.
Now, Ben is a very calm, chilled young man, but as we arrived it was clear to see Ben was slightly nervous. To the extent he didn’t see me at first. We settled his nerves with a little relaxed photography with his best man and the car. A few shots of guests and the church to set the scene and he had to go in see the vicar before the ceremony, whilst outside the bride arrived along with the rest of the bridal party.
Once inside, the church lent itself nicely to light, the vicar was a dream to work with too allowing me to float around and capture freely. Not all are so obliging.
It’s great to see a lovely couple that are clearly meant to be, they were so comfortable once in each others company and the glances of happiness flew to and throw between them both.
After the ceremony, we did a few formal groups with a splattering of guest photography. And whallop off we went again to the Mitre Hotel Hampton Court.
It’s very busy round that way so we parked a few minutes away and stretched our legs across the bridge. This also painted some wonderful opportunities of where we could take the couple for romantics.
Wedding photography at Hampton Court can be tricky in poor weather as you’d be limited to locations, but today was a belter and we took every opportunity to utilise the ability to get the best from the location.
Drinks and canapes at the hotel with another large group shot, where I hung the camera through a small opening up in the hotel to get the best advantage of the entire congregation. With that in the bag, we took the couple out and about, where it became clear they were getting a lot of public attention. The couple thrived in the excitment and with cars tooting and people clapping they embrassed the oppertunity for some fab imagery. We headed over the bridge, down by the river and even popped into the Hampton Court Palace grounds for a few sneeky photos.
Due to the tide we couldn’t get down on the jetty at the hotel next to the river but we did some amazing other locations instead!
More natural imagery back at the hotel, some room sets and then a brief break whilst the wedding party enjoyed the food.
First dance and the cake cutting ran over, it’s common place for these things to happen at weddings, so I knew what to expect, and with the music pumping the party was in full swing.
Included below are a few images below but there are many many more to show Emma and Ben. I don’t want to give everything away just yet, but to give a nice taster of the day for the newley weds and the guests to see in anticipation for the full package.
Congratulations again Emma and Ben Fisher!! We had a ball.
